The Ottawa Senators have drafted five goalies over the last six years, so it’s safe to say they’ve got quite a few young options to turn to in the near future.

One of the goalies the Sens drafted over that span is Arizona State University sophomore Joey Daccord. Currently playing in his sophomore season, the North Andover, Massachusetts native owns a 1-3-1 record with a 3.39 goals against average and a .902 save percentage, but he’s played a lot better than his stats show.

This past weekend, the Sun Devils and the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks went head-to-head at Baxter Arena in Omaha, Nebraska, and the visiting goalie put on quite a show for the fans in attendance.

With time winding down and the game clock set to expire, the Senators prospect made a tremendous diving play to keep the puck out of the net and his team alive.

Arizona State Univeristy isn’t exactly known for its hockey program, but they might start to make a name for themselves if Daccord can pull off more game-saving stops like the one he pulled off against Omaha-Nebraska.
