Bobbleheads have been around for more than 50 years, and while technology has greatly advanced over that span, bobbleheads still haven’t been perfected just yet.

Don’t get us wrong, some bobbleheads are spot on from the facial features to the tattoos, but some are just way off. Here are six bobbleheads that didn’t exactly turn out as planned.

Tie Domi

Tie Domi wasn’t the tallest or slimmest player during his playing days, but he certainly didn’t look like this. Any Toronto Maple Leafs fan would be able to spot Tie Domi’s smile anywhere, except for on this bobblehead.

Sidney Crosby

You can kind of see Sidney Crosby’s resemblance in this bobblehead if you look at it pretty quickly, but when you stop and stare at it you can start to see the differences.

Curtis Joseph

Every Curtis Joseph bobblehead looks exactly like this. Whether he’s rocking a Maple Leafs, Red Wings or Canada jersey, they all look the same. The hair is the only thing close to resembling CuJo’s features on this bobblehead. At least his mask is spot on.

Scott Niedermayer & Joe Sakic

These two are obviously nowhere close to resembling Scott Niedermayer and Joe Sakic. For one, Niedermayer had one of the greatest beards in the league but this bobblehead makes it look like he was only capable of growing patchy stubble. As for the Sakic one, we don’t know where to start.

Jonathan Quick

Everyone looks different after playing four rounds in the NHL playoffs, but according to this bobblehead Jonathan Quick turned into an entirely different person. If they had just added a Stanley Cup Champions hat on his head instead, it would have been more spot on.

We get that it’s tough to perfect turning someone into a bobblehead, but some of these aren’t even close. Especially the Joe Sakic and Scott Niedermayer ones. If you have some bobbleheads that look nothing like the actual player, we’d love to see them. Tweet us or shoot us an email at bardown@bellmedia.ca.
