It's been 7 years since Ilya Kovalchuk was given a 17 year, $102 million deal by the New Jersey Devils.

The NHL and NBA signing period has slowed down significantly since the window opened on the 1st of July, but in the first few days a number of large contracts were given out.

But while the money was huge -- Connor McDavid's $100 million, Carey Price's $84 million, Steph Curry's $201 million, James Harden's $228 million -- the longest terms were six and eight years. Now of course the contracts aren't any longer than that as both league's negotiated for those maximum lengths in their respective collective bargaining agreements. Still, on the anniversary of one of the longest contracts of all time, we couldn't help but take a look at other ridiculously long deals.
