A couple of weeks back, a Reddit thread popped up about a potential Marcus Stroman and Aaron Sanchez feud.

For the past couple of years, especially in the summer, the two had seemed inseparable. They had their own hashtag (#StroChez), they were the future of the Toronto Blue Jays pitching staff and they were always hanging out.

On Reddit, the thread stated that the two have stopped following each other on Twitter (Still the case), the disappearance of their posts together and a couple cryptic tweets from Stroman after Sanchez signed with his new agent, Scott Boras.

Once people caught onto this, the internet went wild, reading into every one of their tweets and truly believing that the two Blue Jay pitchers were no longer friends. While this was entirely speculation, the news has finally grown so big that it reached a media scrum, as Stroman was asked to address the speculation.

Sean Fitz-Gerald, a writer with The Athletic, quoted Stroman saying the following about his relationship with Sanchez:

“We’re still friends. We’re not as close, but we’re still friends.

We’re not as close, we’re not as close. Obviously, we go our separate ways. We’re around different people. But we’re still friends, we’re still friends. Just because we’re not together every single second of the day, people, like, lose their mind.”

He also commented on the internet speculation.

“It’s crazy to see. The speculation needs to stop. Honestly, it’s just social media craze phase. That would never happen 10 years ago. You’d never even see that debate.”

It does seem as if they have grown apart in some ways, but maybe they just have to get back out on the field to get their swagger back.

I'm like woah... Can't fool the city man they know what's up #Mood
