All eyes are on P.K. Subban now more than ever as he's in the Stanley Cup final for the first time in his career.

Subban is one of the best defenceman in the league, but sometimes his celebrations or antics on the ice rub fans and players the wrong way.

One of those players is John Scott, and in an E:60 feature that ran this past Sunday, this quote stuck out to hockey fans.

When fans saw what Scott had to say about Subban, there was anger towards the former All-Star, but on Monday, he joined TSN Radio 690 Montreal to clear up the quote and comments he made which were actually from two years ago.

“I didn’t know what was going on,” Scott told TSN 690, as transcribed by the Montreal Gazette. “I just tried to figure out what’s going on and I find out it’s because of this ESPN piece I did a long time ago and they’re running it yesterday. I didn’t even see it really. So I’m just trying to put some fires out and tell everyone like: yeah, I said that a long time ago.

“I honestly hated everyone I played against, so it’s not anything personal against P.K.,” said Scott. “I hadn’t met him at that time and now that I’ve met him I actually like the guy. He’s a good guy off the ice. But on the ice I don’t like him and that’s just all there is to it. I’m not going to back down from that comment. I didn’t like playing against him, I didn’t like some of the antics he did. You’re allowed to not like people. It’s not always rainbows and butterflies. So everyone I hope please stop mean tweeting me.”

Like Scott said, you're allowed to not like people on the ice.  Tuesday, Subban took to Twitter to share his feelings on the entire situation and it was a very classy response to say the least:

Subban has said time and time again that he doesn't care if you like his celebrations or not.  At the end of the day, he's just going to keep being himself.

You don't have like people and what they do on the ice, but you can still like someone off the ice and clearly Scott respects who Subban is off of the ice, so stop mean tweeting him already.
