One of the craziest summers in NBA history just got a whole lot crazier.

Thursday, ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that Kyrie Irving had asked the Cavs for a trade last week and LeBron James, like the rest of the NBA world, was blindsided by the news.

Kyrie Irving has come into his own over the last three seasons playing alongside LeBron and his shot in Game 7 to essentially win Cleveland's first title will go down as one of the greatest moments in basketball history.

Now, though, all reports suggest he doesn't want to play with James and wants to be the star of his own team.

As we said before, just like James, the basketball world didn't see this turn of events coming and they reacted accordingly.

Obviously this story is far from over, so the insane NBA summer will continue on as planned.
