The San Jose Sharks will have a bit of a different look next season as Patrick Marleau is now in Toronto.

The potential for another big name to leave the Sharks was real, too, but in the end, Joe Thornton decided to sign a one-year deal to stay with San Jose and try and win a Stanley Cup.

#JoeThornton is officially back with the @sanjosesharks, signing a 1-year, $8 million deal.

The news of Thornton's deal, though, was actually overshadowed by the epic picture of him signing his contract.

Legendary.  The one thing a lot of fans noticed about the picture was that Thornton was wearing The Tragically Hip flip flops, and that added to the overall awesomeness of the photo.

Those amazing 'SummerSkates' as they're called made another appearance in an unlikely place as Thornton took a picture with members of the Czech Republic U17 team wearing them.

Jeans and flops is the fashion trend the world never knew it needed.

We hope Thornton pops up randomly on social media rocking his jeans and flops this summer more often, and maybe next time he'll be with his best buddy.
