Every year, in Week 1 of the NFL players suffer tragic injuries and all people every care about is their fantasy teams.

This year the unfortunate players expected to miss significant time are David Johnson and Allen Robinson. Both players were expected to have big years and were major parts of their team’s plans. Johnson is coming off a monster year that led to him being a fairly unanimous 1st overall pick in most fantasy leagues and Robinson was looking to bounce back in contract season.

Robinson’s injury appears to be more severe (ACL Injury) than Johnson’s (Bad wrist sprain), but still, their seasons will be cut significantly in length.

For players that work as hard as they can all offseason to get ready for this day, it can be absolutely devastating. They often get very emotional at times like this, because although we don’t see all the work they have to put it, the road to recovery and often be a long and tenuous process.

Still, fans mainly seem to care about their fantasy rosters.

Of course, fantasy is fun and players getting injured sucks, but let’s not get carried away with the importance of one player to your fantasy team. These players are likely to have a lot more on the line with these injuries than your fantasy team does, so you’ll probably be okay.
