The Calgary Flames entered Monday night’s game against the Ducks winless in Anaheim dating back to April 25, 2006, when they beat the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim 5-2 in Game 3 of the Western Conference quarterfinals. However, if you’re excluding playoff games from the skid you have to go back even further to January 19, 2004, when Calgary beat Anaheim 5-1.

Looking to break the lengthy losing skid, the Flames brought in some major league help on Monday night to help them get the job done and it certainly worked.

Aware of their struggles in Anaheim, the team turned to the 1989 film ‘Major League’ for some pointers on how to end a brutal winless skid and it worked.

Following the game, the Flames did their routine media scrums and a lot of them, including head coach Glen Gulutzan, couldn’t help but thank Jobu for the extra help.

Perhaps the Flames will consider making Jobu a permanent piece of the locker room this season as he seemed to bring some extra good luck to the team.
