On Tuesday night, the Golden Knights faced Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers for the first time in franchise history.

Despite Vegas' stellar record, the Oilers brought them plummeting back down to earth by demolishing them 8-2 in Edmonton and McDavid led the way with two goals and an assist.

During the blowout loss, the Golden Knights perfectly summed up the reality every team in the NHL (specifically the teams in the West) will have to accept with a perfect tweet about McDavid.

McDavid signed his eight-year extension this summer and if the Oilers have some successful seasons, you can bet he'll want to stay in Edmonton and continue haunt the Pacific Division when his contract is up.

This tweet wasn't the only golden one from Vegas during the blowout loss, and it might not be the best one, either.

The Golden Knights have some time to recover before facing the Oilers again as their next meeting is on January 13th.
