The film Slap Shot was released across North America more than 40 years ago and it’s still a hit to this day.

This past weekend, the Minnesota Twins’ top minor league affiliate the Rochester Red Wings hosted a Salute to Slap Shot Night at the ballpark.

The team went all out for the event and had the Hanson Brothers on-hand for the ceremonial first pitch. However, instead of throwing out the first pitch they decided to spice things up by using their hockey sticks to deliver the first pitch.

The team also rocked some awesome Slap Shot-inspired uniforms for the game.

Fans were able to bid on the game-worn jerseys through an auction during the game and even got to take part in a meet and greet with the Slap Shot stars.
