It’s almost conclusive in the hockey world that people do not like the coach’s challenge when it’s used to review offside calls.

Apparently that is only magnified when it’s used on plays decided by millimeters in the playoffs. Tonight, it was Jakob Silfverberg’s goal that iced the game for the Ducks against the Oilers. Silfverberg almost had his own goal negated, but a video review upheld it, confusing many fans.

They may have different angles than what was seen on TV, so people may not have the full story.

Regardless of the outcome, fans and media alike seem to just hate the rule altogether.

Still, the rule is here to say. In the GM Meetings it was rumoured that they may maker alterations but nothing came of it and it should be returning next season without any changes. As Arthur Staple points out, the GMs like it.
