Chucking a catfish onto the ice can take you a long way if you’re a Nashville resident.

Die-hard Predators fan Jake Waddell appeared destined for trouble after he was kicked out of PPG Paints Arena for throwing one onto the ice during Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final.

The 36-year-old was initially going to be criminally charged, however Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala determined that his actions did not rise to the level of criminal charges.

Waddell returned to Nashville somewhat of a hero and people wanted to get to know the man who threw the fish in an opposing arena. According to TSN’s James Duthie, Waddell held an autograph session in his team’s home city.

Waddell isn’t the person to gain celebrity status for a peculiar reason during the 2017 NHL postseason. Who could forget ‘Dart Guy’’s infamous rise to fame during the Toronto Maple Leafs’ first round thriller against the Washington Capitals?

It will be interesting to see what the next fan does to garner attention from the hockey world.
