After enduring one of the worst seasons in NHL history, the Avs, who possessed the best odds of receiving the number-one overall pick (18%), dropped all the way to fourth. Instead, New Jersey moved up a few spots, and will now pick first come June.

Teams who slid in the draft such as the Avs and Vancouver Canucks expressed their frustration over the matter as well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Prospects Nolan Patrick and Nico Hischier are expected to be the top two picks of the draft, and New Jersey, who is in dire need of offence, will be expected to select one of the two.
