The Leafs will wear this incredible throwback jersey on December 19th to honour the Toronto Arenas

Just over a week ago, there was speculation that the Toronto Maple Leafs could be wearing a 1918 throwback Toronto Arenas jersey on December 19th against the Hurricanes.

The speculation came from the tickets for the historic game and fans put two and two together.

Tuesday, the speculation became official as the team announced that they'd be wearing the legendary throwbacks at MLSE LaunchPad.

For those that don't know, the reason the Leafs will be honouring the Arenas with this throwback jersey on December 19th is because exactly 100 years to that day, the Arenas played the first game in the franchise's history.
