Thus far the New York Mets 2017 season has been pretty low on thrills, but on Wednesday night the team mixed things up -- 23 times to be exact -- and helped to create one of the strangest looking box scores in baseball history.

Before Wednesday's Subway Series game, Mets manager Terry Collins was faced with a bit of a challenge after finding out that he would be without two of his infielders, Wilmer Flores and Jose Reyes, would be unable to suit up due to injury. To cover off third and second base Collins got creative, placing catcher Travis d’Arnaud on the hot corner, a position he has never played before at the professional level. This is where things get interesting. In an effort to make d’Arnaud's task a little less daunting, Collins switched Asdrubal Cabrera (2nd baseman) and d’Arnaud's positions every time a righty was at the plate, ensuring d’Arnaud saw less of the ball. The end result was this.

23 position switches over nine innings. If that's not some kind of record, it's got to be close to one. The Mets ended up losing the game anyway, but on the bright side, no errors were committed, so Collins' plan did work.
