The Washington Capitals decided to hold their first ever Social Media Night during their game against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, but all people will remember from the entirety of the night is one single tweet.

One would assume the Capitals' Twitter handle would be extremely active throughout the night, but also on its best behaviour as more eyes than usual would be following along due to the special occasion. The team encouraged fans to join in on the interactive experience by tweeting them pictures of the game, selfies, and face swaps with friends and family members.

A fan by the name of Emily decided she wanted to get in on the #CapsSocialNight fun, and posted a picture of her father and her enjoying the game. The Capitals saw the tweet, and quote tweeted it saying what a great face swap it was. That would be all well and good if it had been a face swap, but it was just a regular selfie of the two. Yikes!

Emily responded to the Caps Twitter handle telling them it was just a normal picture of her and her dad.

But the Caps Twitter was not ready to acknowledge they made a terrible, terrible mistake...

Thankfully Emily was a good sport about it.

Either the Caps actually thought it was a face swap, or they absolutely roasted this poor girl and her father for no reason with a bad joke.

This man came along after to save the day, and made an actual face swap of the original picture. Not all superheroes wear capes... some tweet face swaps.
