Sometimes there's nothing better than afternoon baseball during the week in the summer.

Sure, the games might not be sellouts for obvious reasons (people still work summer), but Thursday in Washington, the Nationals made some history and gave the fans in attendance a few souvenirs.

In the third inning, Brian Goodwin started the fun with a two-run bomb.  The next three hitters then proceeded to join Goodwin by going yard for the rare back-to-back-to-back-to-back chain of home runs.

The inning was a historic one for the Nationals to say the least as they added another home run before the frame was over.
For the game, thus far the Nats have eight (yes eight) home runs which is a team record for most homers in a game.
The scary part is they still have a lot of game to go to add to that record.
