When Patrick Marleau signed with the Leafs this summer, a lot of people were shocked that the man who spent his entire career with the Sharks was leaving for the Leafs.

Fans were also a little shocked to discover the Leafs had signed the 38-year-old to a three-year deal and we understand if the term for the deal worries some fans with Marleau being the age that he is.

That said, this stat may change your opinion on how much longer Marleau can produce at a solid level, and the stat is all about consecutive games played:

Furthermore, if you look at his entire career, Marleau just hasn't missed many games which is incredible to say the least.

As the old saying goes, availability is the best ability and considering Marleau scored more than 25 goals for just the second time since the 2012-13 season, it's obvious that when he's on the ice, he's producing despite his age.

Leafs fans are hoping that trend continues in his first season in Toronto, but if it somehow doesn't, Auston Matthews continues to look like he's going to have a monster season.
