For the second straight season, the Penguins hoisted the Stanley Cup to end the season, but this run was a lot different than last year's.

In between the pipes both Matt Murray and Marc-Andre Fleury contributed over the course of the Cup run.

Veterans and rookies like Ron Hainsey and Jake Guentzel played prominent roles for the Pens throughout the playoffs this time around.

Plus, the team won the Cup without their top defenceman in Kris Letang who was out with an injury.

At the end of the day, though, the most important thing was that the result was the same.

That said, back in Pittsburgh there was something different about the parade this time around.

Wednesday an estimated 650,000 people showed up to celebrate their team's Cup win.

The estimated crowd was more than double the city of Pittsburgh's population which is insane to think about.

It's also ridiculous to think that the crowd significantly grew in size from last year's parade.

The parade last year was the largest sports parade in Pittsburgh history before Wednesday's and if the Penguins somehow pull of the three-peat, there's a good chance there will be even more people in the streets celebrating with the team next year.

We're not sure what's crazier, though, the fact that there were so many people at the parade or that nobody was arrested.

It's not like the fans and players weren't having any fun, either.

Pittsburgh celebrates responsibly and according to the Cup odds for next season, they're the favourites to do so again this time next year.
