If you thought having the same name as a celebrity or historical figure was bad because of teasing in school, imagine having your name appear online after getting drafted into the NHL.

The NHL Draft continued on Saturday in Chicago, with teams making their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th round selections. Not a ton of players selected past the 4th round of the draft make it to the NHL, so usually the picks fly by without a whole lot of fanfare. But that all changed with the Red Wings 6th round selection. With the 162nd overall pick in the NHL Draft, the Red Wings selected John Adams...from Boston.

For those who may need a little bit of brushing up on their American History, John Adams was the second President of the United States, and a notable leader of the movement for American independence. Oh, and he was born in Massachusetts.

Once the pick was made, the floodgates opened, with hockey fans making as many historically based jokes that they could think of.

According to his Twitter account, Adams actually goes by the first name Jack, which kind of ruins the joke a little bit, not that that will stop fans from making the wise crack anyways. However, considering Adams is finally realizing his dream of being drafted to an NHL team, we hardly think he cares (as he shouldn't)!
