Not sure if you've heard yet, but Monday marks the first total solar eclipse that will be visible from North America since 1979.

The ultra-rare event has managed to capture the excitement of just about everyone, including members of the sports community at large. For one, the topic of the solar eclipse has been mentioned ad nauseam to football coaches across the U.S., with Alabama's Nick Saban being the one coach who is bar far the least interested in discussing it.

Who needs to see it in person when you can just look at images of it on T.V.? Right? Well, we definitely don't agree, but Saban is a pretty busy guy around this time of year, so we trust he knows what he's doing with his time. While football coaches didn't seem all that interested in the eclipse, the hockey community was a lot more enthusiastic for the occasion. The Nashville Predators are even selling special glasses for it, some that Nic Kerdiles of the Ducks should probably pick up.

Just in case you're not feeling like you're sufficiently prepared to enjoy the total solar eclipse, we've decided to treat you to a special list of athletes who are likely also enjoying Monday's event, all because of their pun-perfect names.
