It’s become a common theme for TNT's on-air basketball analysts to voice their negative opinions on players throughout the league. Charles Barkley recently criticized LeBron James on TNT’s Tip-Off show, and got an earful from the Star forward. Today, Shaq is the new subject of controversy.

The Hall of Famer has historically poked fun at Golden State Warriors Center JaVale McGee, and today he took things too far when he ruthlessly criticized McGee on Twitter.

Earlier today, Teammate Kevin Durant came to McGee’s defence, and the Warriors have reportedly asked Shaq to put an end to it all.

The following is an excerpt from UPROXX:

Sources told ESPN that the Warriors contacted Turner officials to express concern about TNT’s years long McGee coverage on the “Shaqtin’ a Fool” segment on the popular “Inside The NBA” show, with the team contending that the ongoing negative portrayal of the veteran center is doing unnecessary damage to McGee’s reputation.

A Turner source confirmed the discussions with the Warriors and told ESPN that “the matter has been discussed internally” after a Twitter feud erupted Thursday night between O’Neal and McGee.

It will be interesting to see how Shaq and the rest of the NBA crew handles the situation, because it’s tough to argue against them being the most outspoken panel in sports. Stay tuned because this likely isn’t the last time we’ll hear about this feud.
