Los Angeles Dodgers’ pitcher Rich Hill was having the game of his life, until the 9th inning. In the ninth, Hill’s bid for a perfect game came to an end on a leadoff error.

But after the error, Hill was still in line for a no-hitter, and that’s when things got worse for the pitcher. First, Chase Utley made a diving grab to save him, but immediately after Hill allowed a walk-off home run to Pittsburgh Pirates’ Josh Harrison, losing his no-hitter and the game all in one swing. One swing of the bat resulted in heartbreak for Hill.

Chase Utley kept it alive, but Josh Harrison ended the no-hitter with style. #SCtop10

Life comes at you fast, indeed.

But from a Pirates point of view, breaking up a no-hitter with a walk-off home run in extra innings is pretty epic.
