What an incredibly bizarre start to the 2017 Stanley Cup Final.

When the Penguins went up 3-0 in the 1st period of Game 1, you could have been forgiven for thinking that the Predators were in serious danger of getting blown out on the road. But then the second and third period happened. Somehow, someway, the Penguins managed to go the entire second period and most of the third without getting a single shot on net (a first in Cup final history).  That allowed the Predators to tie the game, scoring two goals in the third.

The Penguins looked sunk, but as fate would have it, the hockey gods were smiling down on them, as Jake Guentzel managed to snipe a goal on Pittsburgh's first shot in 37 minutes. That goal would go down as the game-winner, whit the Pens adding an empty netter to take Game 1 by a score of 5-3. But although the Penguins managed to escape with the W, the internet didn't let them off so easy following their wild win.

Even the most diehard of Penguins fans would have to admit that the Penguins were a bit lucky to escape with that result, but in the end a W is a W. All we can say is bring on Game 2!
