NHL 18 is currently in beta mode and fans of the series have been powering through hours of the new game modes.
As there is in any video game, there’s bound to be a couple oddities in the game, especially when it’s still in beta. One of the new modes in NHL 18 is NHL Threes, which is played in a kind of NHL arcade style where all the hits are big, there are Money Pucks that count for more than one goal and, of course, it’s 3-on-3.
In this mode, goalies can get laid out too, but they also have a little bit more freedom with their movement.
Because they skate so differently from players they can sometimes weave their way up the ice, confusing any fore checkers – but they still can’t pass the red line. So, when you get to the red line, fire away and you never know, maybe you’ll rip a shot BarDown like this tendy.
If you’ve seen the latest trailer for NHL 18, you’ll know that the game has a lot of new features, but after seeing this, we’ll probably just spend all year trying to score with the goalie.
Although, perhaps being able to do weird celebrations with the mascots will push aside that desire.
