Finding out the agreed terms of a professional athlete's contract (years, salary) with a team is rather common, but how many times can you say that you've ever seen the finer details of a deal?

Friday, ESPN Sports Business reporter Darren Rovell tweeted a picture of a handwritten version of Mark Messier's contract with the Vancouver Canucks. The contract papers include the financial breakdown of Messier's five-year deal with the Canucks, including his annual salary, his signing bonuses and his additional perks.\

Messier's time with the Canucks didn't go all that well, as he recorded career low numbers and the team struggled, failing to make the playoffs in all three of the seasons the Moose spent in Vancouver. Still, from a financial stand point, it seemed to be paying off quite nicely.

Here are some of the noted perks listed in Messier's deal.

- He was guaranteed a luxury box and tickets to each home game.

- The team would pay up to $3000 (USD) for a corporate apartment in Vancouver.

- He received "phantom stock" in the team which reportedly totaled $18 million according to Rovell.

That $3000 a month in rent probably wouldn't get you what it used to in Vancouver, but as a whole, those are some pretty awesome additional perks.
