The summer is a time of year for goaltenders to spice things up a bit.

Over the past few months, numerous netminders released new masks which they will be donning during the regular season. Some notable ones include John Gibson’s Anaheim Mighty Duck themed helmet, and Ryan Miller’s beach-themed piece.

While both are beauties, we very well could have found the best one yet. Or ever, for that matter.

It’s not uncommon for goaltenders to feature athletes or characters from outside of the sport on their helmet, and a certain individual turned to basketball. Clearly an AI fan, ‘Hanson’ had the infamous Allen Iverson ‘step over’ Tyronn Lue moment from Game 1 of the 2001 NBA Finals painted onto the back of his mask.

Incredible.

If you can’t remember the exact moment, here’s a bit of a history lesson. On June 6, 2001, Iverson brought Lue to the ground with a nasty crossover before nailing a beautiful jump-shot. Then, in front of the entire Lakers bench, Iverson ruthlessly stepped right over Lue on the way back to his own side of the court.

Certainly one of the more memorable plays in NBA history.

Lue ultimately had the last laugh, as the Lakers went on to defeat the 76ers 4-1 in the be best-of-seven series. We’re not sure if either are huge hockey fans, but hopefully they’ll have an opportunity to see that fans still have a strong appreciation for the play.

Is this the coolest helmet art you’ve ever seen?
