It's hard to believe that nearly five years ago, the Arizona Coyotes were making a third straight playoff appearance.

Since the 2011-12 season, though, the Coyotes haven't reached the 40 win mark and so far this season, they're last in the Pacific Division and destined for lottery balls.

A lot hasn't gone right for the young and talented team this season.  They've been forced to overcome injuries to key players, and they've had a hard time scoring and stopping opposing teams from doing so.

While playing solid defence is always a key to victory, we've seen teams score their way to the playoffs in recent years, but Arizona won't be one of the teams, and this insane stat regarding their goal scoring is one of the main reasons why the team's in the basement of the Pacific.

Over 100 players have scored 10 or more goals this season, but not one player on the Coyotes through 40 games has reached the 10 goal mark.  Insane, right?

Radim Vrbata and Martin Hanzal are both stuck on 9 goals while Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Tobias Rieder both have 8 goals.

Obviously this stat won't hold up for much longer, but still, even the lowly Avs have more than one player with 10 or more goals.

Just for reference, here are the players that have scored 10 or more times this season. (NOTE: Stats from Hockey Reference don't include Tuesday night's games)
