Mascots play an integral role in helping fans cheer their team on. In a sense, they are the face of the franchise off the ice. That’s not the best news for the KHL’s HC Neftekhimik, who recently presented their new horrifying mascot. Take a look for yourself.

Terrifying.
The team’s nickname is the ‘Petrochemists’, though we’re not entirely sure what that has to do with its new mascot. If you take a closer glance at the logo, it kind of looks similar to that of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ old one, except the fangs on this one are way more insane.
When you compare it to other NHL mascots, it clearly stands out amongst the rest. The only other one that comes remotely close is the Edmonton Oilers’ Hunter.
