Mike Trout is the LeBron James of baseball. Alright, that’s a tough comparison to make, but Trout is pretty much unanimously the best all-around player in the game (not including pitchers, where Clayton Kershaw may compare). His mix of speed, power, fielding, and his eye at the plate contribute to his stature, and each year he seems to get a little better. Obviously this is a recipe for huge fan following, and Trout certainly knows that life.
He may be one of the more popular players in the league, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t make time for his massive fan following. On Thursday, Trout was the source of an awesome fan reaction, as the young kid clad in Angels gear didn’t try to hide his shock and awe.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen Trout drawing the smiles from young fans. Last season he even played catch with a fan in the stands. On top of that, he doesn’t seem to just merely be doing his due diligence, he seems to genuinely enjoy it.
It’s always nice to see when elite-level success doesn’t change a player’s good heart.
