The Toronto Maple Leafs are set to open their preseason in St. Johns, Newfoundland tonight and tickets were not cheap.

At all.

According to the Toronto Sun’s Steve Simmons, tickets were selling for $600 apiece for Tuesday night’s showdown against the Ottawa Senators. Today, not a single ticket can be found on StubHub.

The game will be played at the Mile One Centre, which seats 6,287 fans for hockey games. After his lengthy holdout, Mitch Marner is expected to participate on the team’s first line alongside John Tavares and Kasperi Kapanen. Auston Matthews, on the other hand, will be in the press box, but it looks like he’s still having a blast.

For reference… the cheapest available ticket for Toronto’s regular season opener against the Senators (ironically enough) on StubHub is less than 1/3 the cost at US $122.55. A $600 dollar seat would get you a pretty nice view in the 12th row behind the net for that one… (including taxes).

The Mile One Centre is going to be absolutely buzzing.
