For those that don't know, the Supreme Hockey League (SHL) is another talented hockey league in Russia that is similar to the AHL in North America.

Both are the second highest hockey leagues (AHL under NHL, SHL under KHL).

The big difference between the two, however, is that the SHL is independent and not a farm system.  That said, the SHL and NHL have a couple of similarities in the form of team logos.

Notice which two logos we're talking about.  If you don't, the logos for Chelmet Chelyabinsk and Gornyak Uchaly are the two we're pointing out because they look exactly like Edmonton's and Washington's logo.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery so both franchises should be happy their logos inspired these two.

For those wondering, the SHL's first season was in 2010-11, so there's no way this could be the other way around.
