Just when you thought hockey couldn’t get any more exciting, someone goes and invents unicycle hockey.

Don’t worry, you read that correctly. Unicycle hockey is exactly what it sounds like, hockey played on unicycles. Each player must be mounted onto the unicycle during game action in order to play the ball. Just like ice hockey, each team sends out five players each and no dedicated goalie.

This isn’t just something that is played for fun, there are three national unicycle hockey leagues located in the world. Australia’s league features 8 teams, Switzerland is home to about 20 teams, and Germany’s league features 53 teams.

Riding a unicycle by itself already looks hard enough, now to accomplish that while playing a game of hockey almost seems impossible, but it’s not.

Hockey isn’t the only sport to have unicycle version of it, there’s also sports such as unicycle basketball and unicycle soccer out there.

Unicyclists do what your favorite athlete does...except riding on only one wheel.

This is definitely a game we can get behind. Hopefully someone decides to start up a league like this in Canada sooner rather than later because we’re all for it.
