At the age of 36, American tennis icon Venus Williams became the oldest player in the Open Era to reach the final of the Australian Open on Thursday.

Venus managed to finesse her way past fellow American CoCo Vandeweghe, making it to the final of the Australian Open for the second time in here career where she will play her younger sister Serena Williams in a match that's sure to be a classic. After Venus's victory in the semifinal, the 22-year WTA veteran provided a poignant response when asked about being a role model, summing up the power of sport to perfection.

 Venus will try to win the first Aussie Open singles title of her career on Saturday, while Serena will be going for her seventh.
