The Daytona Tortugas paid tribute to Craig Sager on Friday night by hosting Sager Strong Night.

As part of the special event, the Cincinnati Reds’ High-A affiliate invited Vince Carter out to the ballpark to throw out the ceremonial first pitch and it was pretty impressive

Carter delivered the pitch right down the middle of the plate and got an ovation from the fans.

As part of the special event, the team also rocked some fantastic jerseys in honour of Sager.

On top of the jerseys, fans also had a chance to purchase a Sager Strong Tortugas T-shirt by ordering one of the special T-shirt packages for the game.

The team auctioned off the jerseys throughout the game and presented a check of nearly $3,600 to the Sager Strong Foundation.

We are very proud and honored to be able to present a check of nearly $3,600 to the #SagerStrong Foundation tonight

Carter is spending some time in Daytona Beach for his annual Vince Carter Youth Basketball Academy and was also a special guest at a Tortugas game last week, where he ended up signing some autographs for the fans during a rain delay.
