While Methot was harassing Crosby, Hoffman joined in with a water bottle from the bench

For some reason, people seem to think the key to beating the Penguins is getting under Sidney Crosby’s skin.

While it hasn’t been successful for many (largely because Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel are also on the team), it seemed to work for the Senators last night. They were all over Crosby and ended up coming away with a series-tying 2-1 win.

How were they all over Crosby? Well, they were poking at him from every angle, as you can see in this clip where Marc Methot is jabbing Crosby with his stick and Mike Hoffman is spraying him from the bench.

It looks like Hoffman was trying to get him with the old middle school trick of looking like he peed his pants – it’s a classic. That wasn’t all though, Marc Methot was making sure to get in Crosby’s grill all game long.
