The start to the 2017 season for the Toronto Blue Jays was absolutely painful to watch.

Between the injuries to key players like Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki, and the fact that the team couldn't score any runs, it was tough for fans to keep the faith.

Those that did, though, are probably jumping for joy now as their team has been on a tear since the end of April.

A big reason for the turnaround has been the bats and the return of Toronto's injured stars.

Wednesday, the first AL All-Star game balloting update was released and three Jays made the ballot, one of which will surely surprise fans.

Entering play Wednesday, Josh Donaldson has only played 13 games this season, and yet, he ranks fourth in voting for third baseman.

While that might be surprising to some, Donaldson is one of the biggest names in baseball, and even though he hasn't played much this season, it's clear fans haven't forgotten about him.

Now that he's back in the lineup, JD has a chance to be an All-Star, especially if he keeps on hitting home runs to the fifth deck.
