Insects have made their way into the Atlanta Hawks' concession stands, and it’s for a different reason than you might think.

Sure, a fruit fly can occasionally be seen flying around and a hornet will try to mark its territory on an area of meet once in a while. But the insects in the Hawks’ concession stand are actually being used for eating purposes. The newest item on the menu is cricket tacos.

The Seattle Mariners were the first team to offer the treat, and they became so popular that they often sold out at games. The Hawks took notice and courageously began offering them to fans, and according to Philadelphia’s CBS Local they are “savory like sunflower seeds and crispy like chips.” Upon first glance, they actually look pretty tasty.

You might be surprised to hear that Crickets are actually quite healthy to eat. According to the Huffington Post, crickets are densely nutritious and provide a great source of protein, vitamins and minerals. Is that enough to convince you to give it a shot?

So, if you happen to be at an Atlanta Hawks game in the future, give the cricket taco a try and let us know how it is @BarDown.
