The Montreal Canadiens’ AHL affiliate is moving closer to home next season as the team revealed that they were moving their minor league franchise from St. John’s, Newfoundland, to Laval, Quebec for the 2017-18 season.

After spending last season with the Brampton Beast in the ECHL, goalie Zach Fucale is hoping to earn a spot on the Laval Rocket roster. With the season quickly approaching, the former second round pick of the Montreal Canadiens got a new mask made for Laval’s inaugural season and it’s pretty incredible.

Designed by pro artist Sylvie Marsolais of Sylabrush, Fucale’s mask includes the Laval Rocket logo on the right side of the mask, while the left side is a tribute to Maurice The Rocket Richard.

The front of the mask also includes his last name with the old school Montreal Canadiens logo from the early 1900’s taking the place of the “CA” in his last name, while the back of the mask is covered by their current logo.

The artwork on Fucale’s new mask is unbelievable and every Montreal Canadiens fan is going to get a kick out of it.
