17-year-old German driver Sophia Floersch says she's "fine" despite fracturing her spine after launching into the air and crashing into a fence at the Macau Grand Prix in China.

Floersch lost control of her Van Amersfoort Racing car at approximately 170mph before striking the track fence next to the media section on Sunday morning.

 

Two photographers and a race marshal were injured in the incident. Japanese driver Sho Tsuboi was struck by Floersch was also sent to hospital with back pain.

The young driver took to Twitter to offer an update on her condition.

The driver was conscious following the crash was classified in stable condition after being transferred to the Conde S. Januario General Hospital in Macau, China.

The race was halted for over an hour after the crash. Floersh is considered to be one of the top rising drivers on the in the Motorsports scene.
