Red Gerard is a star in the making in the snowboarding world.
One of Canada’s favourite Olympians, Mark McMorris won bronze in an event that was taken over by the 17-year-old American and as more information comes out about his win, fans are liking him even more. Reportedly, he slept through his alarm, got woken up by a roommate, couldn’t find his coat, borrowed someone else’s and then won a gold medal.
Why was he up late? The same reason basically everyone else is: Watching Netflix.
We’ve all been trapped in a Netflix tunnel where the episodes just keep starting and starting, so as people make jokes about what they were doing at 17 years old, keep in mind that whatever Red was doing, it probably wasn’t too different. This has to be one of the most relatable athletes we’ve ever seen. Just listen to what he had to say about what happened after his win.
