It’s not very often that we get to see Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby go head-to-head, and they’ll meet for the first time in two years on Wednesday night in Edmonton.

Crosby enter’s Wednesday’s game sitting 33rd all-time in scoring with 1,332 points in 1,049 games, while McDavid enters the game with 610 points in 427 games, but when both their careers are all said and done they should be sitting near each other at the top of the list.

McDavid has been on an absolute tear this season and has picked up this year where he left off last year, and there's three milestones McDavid has reached so far this season within close proximity to Crosby's previous achievements.

400 career assists

A couple of games ago McDavid recorded his 400th career assist and he did it in just his 426th career game. The Oilers captain passed multiple people on the list by doing so, including Crosby who recorded his 400th career assist in 448th career game, making him the sixth fastest player in NHL history to reach the mark.

600 career points

A few games before recording his 400th career assist, McDavid passed Crosby on a similar list as McDavid became the sixth-fastest player in NHL history to reach 600 career points by doing it in just 421 career games, nine fewer games than what it took Crosby to reach the mark.

200 career goals

McDavid also joined the 200-goal club this season and it only took him 411 career games to reach the mark. This is the only one that Crosby achieved quicker than McDavid, as the Penguins captain scored his 200th career goal in just his 396th regular season game.

Who’s going to have more points when their careers are said and done?
