Remember the good ole' days of hockey? When there weren't as strict rules on what players could and couldn't wear?

Okay, maybe some of the changes worked out for the better. But there have been some unreal trends in the sport's history that need to make a comeback in some shape or form. It doesn't even have to be permanent, it can last just one game for all we care! It's all we're asking for!!!!

So with that in mind, let's kick things off and remember some trends that need to make a return.

YELLOW TINTED VISORS

You can still find slightly tinted visors in the league (just look at Alex Ovechkin), but coloured ones? They've become a thing off the past. Players used to rock the yellow tint and it actually looked kind of cool.

COOPERALLS

Okay, so Cooperalls may be the dustiest piece of equipment (or whatever you want to call them) that the NHL has ever introduced. But you know what? They were also kind of cool! At least they seem kind of cool when you look back at them all these years later. Why not implement them for the next Heritage or Winter Classic to really give the game an old school feel?

DUSTY GOALIE BUCKETS

Some fans and players might not agree with this one but come on... at least one goalie needs to bring back the old bucket (as long as it's safe)! Think about all of the tendies who used to rock one: Dominik Hasek, Chris Osgoode, Tim Thomas, Dan Cloutier, and who could forget...

... Arturs Irbe!!!!

MULLETS

They just aren't there anymore. Jagr, Lemieux, their flow is a thing of the past at this point. Someone really needs to step up and grow a party in the back! But make sure to keep it business in the front, of course.

TWO-PIECE STICKS!

Stick are almost too advanced these days, so it would be kind of cool to see at least a few go for the two-piecer. Imagine seeing a player in today's game rock one similar to the Z-Bubble (with a focus-flex blade) or Ultra Lite from back in the day? Those sticks were unreal!!!!

MASSIVE GLOVES

Gloves these days are great and all but they don't offer as much protection along the arms as some of the older ones did. Take the Great One, for example... the things went up to his elbows!!!! Why buy wrist guards when you could just get a glove that will protect your entire forearm?!

COLOURED SKATES

Let's bring some white jets back, shall we?!

We understand that this is a taste of past trends and that you might not agree that they should return. So let us know what you'd like to see make a comeback in the replies!
