The Philadelphia Flyers won’t have to worry about leadership issues any time soon.

After seeing their star defenceman Ivan Provorov crash into the boards in Game 5, Flyers nation feared the 2015 first round pick would be absent for the following contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins. With his status unknown, Philly fans were delighted to see their star on the ice.

The Flyers ultimately dropped the match 8-5 and no player appeared to be more emotional after the loss than the young d-man. In a postgame presser, Provorov teared up when reflecting on the loss.

Provorov was not the lone Flyer who played with an injury. Following the game, forward Sean Couturier revealed he played through Games 5 and 6 with a torn MCL. The 25-year-old went on to score a hat-trick with two assists in the elimination game.

Provorov finished the season with 17 goals and 24 assists while averaging an impressive 24:09 of ice time. Today’s loss was tough, but Flyers fans can at least be proud of their guys for showing tremendous toughness.
