Being a referee or linesman in hockey is not easy.  Players, coaches, and fans are always yelling at you, you get hit by pucks from time to time, and you have to get in the middle of fights.

Usually officials get in between two players fighting after they're done throwing punches, but sometimes they get in the middle of things as the punches are being thrown.

In a KHL game on Friday, this official paid the price for trying to keep two players away from each other as he took a punch to the face from Blackhawks prospect Artur Kayumov.

Kayumov was tossed from the game after hitting an opponent in the head along the boards and punching the official in the face.

We imagine a suspension will be coming for Kayumov who has 11 points in 35 games this season.
