Baseball players have a very 0 to 100 job and that’s truer for pitchers in the bullpen more than any other athlete.
The bullpen is a unique place in baseball and sports in general. Pitchers are exiled from the rest of their team to remain in an enclosed outfield area until they are eventually called in to pitch. In the meantime, they really don’t have much to do. It’s why you see a lot of pranks and antics in the bullpen and it’s also why you see things like this clip from the Angels/Blue Jays series:
Tough loss for Cam Bedrosian, but we’re sure he’ll get over it. The Angels have been on fire this season, but they’re still out of a playoff position. With the arrival of Shohei Otani they have what seems to be a superstar, add in Mike Trout, Andrelton Simmons and Garrett Richards and the team is poised to finally make a playoff run.
Unfortunately, they are still actually out of a playoff position. Their division has been stellar this season, although the Robinson Cano suspension should help them pass Seattle eventually.
