The Toronto Maple Leafs held their Canadian Armed Forces Appreciation Night on Satudray night, and the return of one Corporal Jeremy Hillson left no eye dry in Scotiabank Arena.

Before the game’s ceremonial puck drop, Hillson’s family was invited on to the ice, and a video message played from Hillson in Iraq. Little did they know, though, Hillson was in the building, and he surprised his family before dropping the puck himself.

Members of the Leafs remarked on the emotional reunion — it was certainly no ordinary pre-game routine.

Military family reunions are always special to watch, and this one especially was quite the ride. Welcome home, Jeremy!
