It’s been a tough season for the Philadelphia Flyers thus far. They sit just two points ahead of the last place New Jersey Devils in the East, and it certainly isn’t the season they were hoping for entering the 2018-19 campaign.

It may have hit an all-time low on Sunday when the Flyers fell to the Winnipeg Jets 7-1. Nothing screams failed season like a blowout like that, and it apparently affected one fan enough to protest. As fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs can relate to, a Flyers jersey hit the ice in Winnipeg.

Perhaps it isn’t a coincidence that the jersey had HEXTALL scrawled across the back. The former Flyers goaltender, Ron Hextall, was recently let go by the team from his GM duties. It was a long awaited firing, with stories coming out of Philly to do with both personality and professional differences.

Hopefully this doesn’t become the new trend in Philly, it’s always tough to see fans pushed to the point of this.
