If you were a fan of baseball growing up in the 90's, then there's a good chance you'll remember the Rookie of the Year film.

Despite 25 years passing since the movie was released, 20th Century FOX is planning on making a remake of the 1993 classic, according to Deadline.com.

The original movie was centred around a little leaguer named Henry Rowengartner played by Thomas Ian Nichols, who accidentally broke his arm while trying to field a fly ball. As his arm healed up, the tendons tightened up and forced an insane amount of velocity.

Taking in a Cubs game in Chicago with his friends while sitting in the outfield bleachers, Henry came up with a home run ball. Tempted by Cubs fans chanting at Henry to "throw it back", he fired an absolute cannon to home plate, impressing everyone at Wrigley Stadium, including the team owner who then signed him to a contract.

Last month, it was confirmed that LeBron James would be staring in Space Jam 2. Earlier this summer, Fox also announced a prequel to the popular film "The Sandlot."

Dan Gregor and Doug Mand will be tasked with rewriting the movie, with Gregor reportedly taking on the director’s role. The movie’s original producer, Bob Harper, will be once again tasked with producing the film.
